What is the Avon Contract Bridge Association ?
The Avon Contract Bridge Association (or ACBA) exists to promote the game of bridge in and around Bristol, primarily for members and affiliated clubs of the ACBA, but occasionally for non-members as well. The organisation was formed when the county of Avon was created a number of years ago. Even though the county of Avon no longer exists, the association has kept its original name. This non-profit organisation is run by a committee (see below), a group of volunteers who give up their time to support the organisation and its activities.
There are a number of bridge clubs in and around Bristol, some of which are affiliated to the county, and therefore the English Bridge Union (EBU). It is the affiliated clubs that the county organisation uses to support its activities. The ACBA does not deal with non-affiliated clubs.
Affiliated clubs are able to issue masterpoints and host the many competitions (see left hand menu under Competitions/Results) that the ACBA run or participate in throughout the tournament year (1st Sep to 31st May). For details of clubs affiliated to the ACBA, please click here.

The ACBA does not have its own premises. For general enquiries, please send an email to . The ACBA is run by a committee whose personal contact details are published in the ACBA diary provided to members.
